Can you ban a blog?
There are a few reasons why you might ask me to ban a blog:
- The first, and most obvious is offensive material (as I've noted above). If a blog contains images I wouldn't show my kids then I will ban it from DigiFree. My kids ONLY watch G rated things, so I'm pretty conservative! So pictures of people wearing very little or horrific images of beasts or blood are cause for action.
- If you believe someone's opinion is wrong then I'm not always going to take sides. If it's something I agree with very strongly (like pornographic material) then I'll ban the site. If someone is promoting their non-Christian religion in an offensive way then I'll probably remove them. If someone has strong political views and uses DigiFree as a means for promoting them then I'll remove them. It's a case of "two strikes & you're out" so don't take this for granted! I won't allow this site to be abused!
- If you believe someone has stolen your work then email me with evidence that this has happened. I do know what this is like because someone recently stole one of my designs. But I also believe in giving people a second chance, particularly people who are new to this and don't understand that you need to give credit! So I will often let the first one go if the person responsible apologises or removes their item from their blog. But repeat offenders are banned.
Please remember that this blog is generated by computerised system! If you search Google for something you get both good and bad results because it's a computer program. While I take as many precautions as I can for avoid offensive items on DigiFree, at times they do slip through. It takes me a good deal of time to change blog posts (particularly because items are repeated now on so many list formats) that it's mostly just too hard to do. When a blog is banned it's as good as gone. Most people only look at one day's post so historical posts are not really an issue.
